Centuries ago, St. Augustine used these words to describe God: “Oh Beauty ever ancient, ever new!” God is ancient as the one who is always there, always attentive.  God is ever new as the one who continually calls us to discover a deeper, more consistent relationship with Him.

Each retreat is a time of reminding through memories and experience, – and a time of re-offering — reminding yourself that God is ancient (always there) and offering your continuing commitment to develop your relationship with God.  A retreat is more than restocking a “spiritual bank account.”  It is another step on your life journey of companionship with Jesus. Each day in your morning offering and evening examen, renew your dedication to follow Jesus. Begin your day with a few moments of gratitude for the holy work God has already accomplished in you and then ask for the grace to continue growing.
